Custom Finishing
Artistic refinishing for those who value depth, texture, and timeworn character.
Furniture carries history. Throughout layered finishes, aged texture, and intentional detail, I transform existing pieces into heirloom art - created specifically for the space they will inhabit.
Each commission is approached as a collaboration. The goal is not to duplicate a previous work, but to interpret mood, depth, and character in a way that feels authentic to both the piece and the home it will enter.
The Process
Consultation
We begin with a conversation about the piece - it's condition, structure, and potential - as well as the atmosphere you wish to create within your space.
Design Direction
A finish concept is developed, including palette, layering approach, and surface detailing. This may incorporate timeworn textures, metallic undertones, integrated decoupage, moulded elements, or subtle pattern work.
Creation
Each layer is applied with intention and allowed proper time to settle. Depth is built gradually. No two commissions are identical, even when inspired by prior works.
Completion
Once detailing is complete, the piece is sealed appropriately and allowed adequate curing time before collection or delivery.
Considerations
Studio capacity for custom commissions is limited to ensure each piece receives the attention and time it requires.
Not all furniture is suitable for artistic refinishing, and each piece is assessed prior to acceptance.
Commissions are interpretive in nature; while past works may serve as inspiration, exact replication is neither guaranteed nor encouraged.
Turnaround timelines vary based on scope and current studio schedule.
Begin the Conversation
If you feel aligned with the aesthetic and process described above, you are invited to begin the conversation through the inquiry form below.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation.
Aspects Studio commissions are interpreted through a layered, heirloom aesthetic rooted in texture, atmosphere, and thoughtful detail. This form is the first step in exploring what we might create together.
Please share as much detail as you feel comfortable providing. Your responses help guide the artistic dialogue.
